We peered around the corner at our 150 guests, all holding brightly burning sparklers. Friends and family lined the road from the stairs to my husband-of-six-hours' diesel pick-up. “Let’s go!” I said, letting go of his hand for only enough time to gather up the hem of my dress.
We started down the steps, cautiously at first, before our steps turned into a jog... through a blur of cheering sparkler-lit faces towards the truck doors. When my husband put his truck into gear, I spun around in my seat.
“Look at all of those people! What a crazy day! Can you believe it’s over?” He squeezed my hand where it rested on the center console, carefully navigating down the dark country road, “It really is crazy. That day flew by.”
After all of the excel spreadsheet planning, emotional breakdowns, fourteen hours of punching out paper hearts (oh, that was just me?), tumultuous font choosing for your invitations and a seemingly endless list of tasks, here is some really great news… It’s all worth it.
